Charged Lepton EDM with Extra Yukawa Couplings

Wei-Shu Hou,
Girish Kumar,
Sven Teunissen

Abstract: In a two Higgs doublet model with extra Yukawa couplings, we assess the new physics contributions to charged lepton electric dipole moment. We focus especially on muon (and tau) EDM where in the coming decade several experiments -Muon g-2, J-PARC and PSI (and Belle II) -will push sensitivities down by several orders of magnitude. With the working assumption that extra Yukawa couplings are analogous to SM ones in strength and taking exotic scalar masses in sub-TeV range, we find that µ and τ EDM can be enhanced… Show more

“…The ρ τ τ coupling in the alignment limit is one of the drivers for our second signal process, pp → H, A → τ τ . In addition, with complex ρ τ τ , the hτ τ coupling can become complex hence CP violating, with the phase [19], Limits from CMS and ATLAS on B(H → τ µ, τ τ ) under the assumption of SM-like (exotic) H production.…”

“…The extra τ Yukawa coupling ρ τ τ with alignment is the main driver for the gg → H, A → τ τ process. In addition, ρ τ τ can carry a complex phase, which can contribute to τ electric dipole moment [19], or reveal itself in the CP structure of the hτ τ coupling. The complex phase of the hτ τ coupling is extensively searched by ATLAS [20] and CMS [21].…”
