Charge radii of light and heavy mesons

Abstract: We calculate the electromagnetic (EM) form fators of the pseudoscalar mesons in the light-front framework. Specially, these form factors are extracted from the relevant matrix elements directly, instead of choosing the Breit frame. The results show that the charge radius of the meson are related to both the first and second longitudinal momentum square derivative of the momentum distribution function. The static properties of the EM form factors and the heavy quark symmetry of the charge radii are checked anal… Show more

“…The value of ω M ≈ 0.096 GeV is obtained from fitting the D 0 transverse momentum spectrum to the data measured by the STAR Collaboration. This value is about a factor of 3 smaller than the value 0.33 GeV determined from the root-mean-square charge radius 0.43 fm of D + as predicted by the light-front quark model [46], implying an increase of the D 0 charge radius by a factor of 1.85 at temperature of 165 MeV. We note that our oscillator constant for the charmed meson is close to the value of 0.106 GeV used in Ref.…”

“…The input parameters m q and β in the Gaussian-type wave function (A11) are shown in Table I. The constituent quark masses are close to those used in the literature [17][18][19][23][24][25][26]. Meson masses and decay widths are taken from [12] and CKM parameters from [27].…”

“…Concerning the charge radii of heavy mesons, we use 0.43 fm for D + and 0.62 fm for B + [20]. With these parameters, we obtain the potentials V 1/2 − and V 3/2 − in Eqs.…”
