“…Subsequently, knockdown of KDM6B in T. scripta caused male to female sex reversal by removing methylation marks on the promoter of DMRT1 , a gene critical in the male sex determination pathway (15). KDM6B and JARID2 have also been associated with TSD in another turtle species ( Chrysemys picta ) (126), female to male sex change in the bluehead wrasse, Thalassoma bifasciatum (140), and thermal responses in the European bass, Dicentrarchus labrax (141).…”

“…We also assessed the effect of genetic origin of parents (wild or selected for growth) on sex ratio. In order to mimic commercial sea bass hatchery conditions, we increased temperature from 16 to 19 °C between 16 and 21 days post hatching (dph), long before the supposed window of molecular sex determination (between 110 and 150 dph) 31 , 32 . We monitored cortisol release in the water during this period for all experimental conditions to evaluate to what extent temperature correlated with this stress hormone.…”

“…Also, it provides the first steps toward functional characterization and annotation of genes, and it produces molecular fingerprints of disease processes (Morozova et al, 2009). For example, a succession of studies using the second-generation RNA-Seq to evaluate the potential mechanism and probable markers in aquatic animal diseases has been performed in recent years (Morozova et al, 2009;Stockhammer et al, 2010;Ordas et al, 2011;Zhang et al, 2011;Ribas et al, 2019). The role of innate immune response to bacterial evasion in zebrafish embryos was determined by transcriptome analysis, which also indicated a series of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) linked to the immune response activities (Stockhammer et al, 2010).…”
