“…Eventually, at ∼480 ps, numerous ligaments neck and rupture, which causes the failure of the welded nanostructure. The tensile deformation and failure mechanisms of the welded NPAA are similar to those of the pristine NPAA (see our previous study 47 ). Unexpectedly, the failure of the welded structure does not appear in the welded joint and is due to the break of the ligaments inside the left NPAA.…”

“…[23][24][25] Our recent work revealed the mechanical behaviors of NPMGs under complex loads. [26][27][28][29] The significant reduction in mass density might extremely weaken their fatigue performance. A deep understanding of the mechanical behaviors and inherent physical mechanisms of NPMGs under cyclic loading is imperative and helpful for their functional applications.…”

“…Shape memory alloys (SMAs) have drawn great attention owing to their exceptional property of a shape memory effect. [1][2][3][4] The commercially developed and well-known SMA is the Ti-Ni alloy, which has been used in many applications, including medical stents, automated window openings, artificial sphincter muscles, etc. 5 However, the martensitic transformation of this alloy is below 200 1C, so it is not suitable for applications at high temperatures, such as gas turbines, rocket engines, automobiles, and nuclear reactor environments.…”
