It is noteworthy that the main IPC species in L. major contains C16 as the long chain base, suggesting that L. major SPT prefers myristoyl-CoA over palmitoyl-CoA as a substrate [27, 47]. Deletion of SPT2 in L. major results in a complete loss of IPC and other SLs.…”
