In this research, different magnetic treatments were applied to diesel fuel using static magnetic fields of 0.36T of magnetic induction. The magnetic conditioners (MCs) were installed in different positions of the fuel lines in the engine and the magnetic treatment of the diesel was also carried out before introducing it into the engine tanks. The study was conducted using a four-stroke, two-cylinder, Lister Petter (LPWS2) engine with a compression ratio of 23.5:1 and a constant engine speed of 1500 rpm. The emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), oxygen (O2), nitrogen oxides and the temperature of the exhaust gases and the mass consumption of fuel were measured. The highest levels of reduction were achieved with the magnetic treatments that locate the MC directly in the engine's pipes. As the number of MC in the engine pipes increases, the emissions of polluting gases decrease. With the treatment that locates one MC in front of each injector, two MC at the entrance of the filter and two MC in the return of fuel were able to increase the O2 emissions by 6.9% and decrease the CO emissions in about 21.3% in the last load of the generator set. With this treatment a decrease in fuel consumption of 4.89% to 80% of engine load was obtained.

The effect of the magnetization field on molecular interactions of the bioethanol-gasoline fuel blends was investigated. This technique was promoted to escalate both the increase in combustion energy and reduce emissions in the internal combustion engine. The bioethanol and gasoline fuel are used for the single-cylinder four-stroke engine with different mixtures, namely E0, E10, E20, and E30, serially. Distinguish of electromagnetic field strength with various intensity was given into the fuel by lower than 1,500 Gauss. The absorption intensity and the functional groups of the fuel molecules are characterized in detail by Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) spectroscopy. The exhaust gas emission and the fuel blends energy are performed using a gas analyzer and calorimeter bomb. By increasing the magnetic field, the de-clustering of the fuel molecules is demonstrated by growing the absorption intensity to be advanced. There is no change in the chemical composition of the fuel as the magnetic induction was enforced. Reduction of namely Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrogen monoxide (NO), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) gas emissions was attained to be 29 %, 25 %, 26 %, and 31 % using a magnetic field of 1,419.57 Gauss, respectively, compared to gasoline fuel without magnetic condition. The greater reduction occurs by employing E30 fuel with the same magnetic intensity, achieved up to 38 %, 42 %, 70 %, and 63 %, regularly. The magnetization treatment leads to improved combustion quality with efficiency increases up to 11.32 %. It contributes to perfect combustion in a single-cylinder four-stroke engine system. Reducing gas emissions can also bring a good environmental impact in the life, although the heat energy gradually deteriorated as the fuel utilized more bioethanol blends

The impacts of strengthening magnetic field exposure on combustion performance of low-octane fuel have been examined experimentally. The combustion test was carried out using a 2-stroke 49 cc engine where the fuel was magnetized using a low magnetic field (<2 kG). Moreover, the molecular behavior of magnetized fuel was also characterized through spectrum tests using NIR and UV-Vis spectrophotometers. The result of this study indicates an exponential decrease of magnetized fuel consumption against the strengthening of magnetic field exposure. This exponential decrease of consumption can be related to the Arrhenius principle. In addition, the decrease of oxygen in the exhaust gas along with the strengthening of the magnetic field also confirms the increase of combustion reactions. Meanwhile, the increase of magnetized fuel absorption against ultraviolet and near-infrared lights along with the increase of the magnetic field intensity indicates a bond weakening, accompanied by the increase of molecular vibrational energy.
