Varios investigadores utilizan métodos termo ópticos para medir el BC en filtros de fibra de cuarzo, como el Improve (que significa mejora-innovación en inglés) y es conocido como reflectancia óptica total (TOR, por sus siglas en inglés); el método 5040 del Instituto Nacional de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional (NIOSH, por sus siglas en inglés), referenciado como transmisión óptica total (TOT, por sus siglas en inglés); la microscopia electrónica de barrido (MEB), y el análisis termo gravimétrico (TGA, por sus siglas en inglés) (López-Reyes et al 2015, Díaz 2016). El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar BC mediante espectrometría de retrodispersión de Rutherford (RBS), una técnica que, de acuerdo con una revisión bibliográfica actualizada, no se ha utilizado en nuestro país y cuyas ventajas respecto de las técnicas mencionadas son, por ejemplo, que la muestra no requiere preparación y es analizada tal como se obtiene del muestreo; que es sensible a elementos pesados en la muestra, y que es complementaria a la técnica de emisión de rayos X inducidos por partícula (PIXE, por sus siglas en inglés).…”
