Abstract: The bone formation response of ceramic bone graft materials can be improved by modifying the material's surface and composition. A unique dual‐phase ceramic bone graft material with a nanocrystalline, hydroxycarbanoapatite (HCA) surface and a calcium carbonate core (TrelCor®—Biogennix, Irvine, CA) was characterized through a variety of analytical methods.
