Low-temperature (180 K) crystal structures of tetrakis-μ-(niflumato)di(aqua)dicopper(II) N,N-dimethylformamide and N,N-dimethylacetamide solvates, their EPR properties, and anticonvulsant activities of these and other ternary binuclear Copper(II)niflumate complexes

“…The EPR parameters of these species are (a) g i = 2.374, g^= 2.069, A i (Cu) = 0.0147 cm À1 ; (b) g i 2.328, g^= 2.069, A i (Cu) 0.0155 cm À1 ; and (c) g i 2.285, g^= 2.069, A i (Cu) = 0.0178 cm À1 . These are identical to within experimental error to values we reported for DMF solutions of ½Cu II 2 ðniflumateÞ 4 ðDMSOÞ 2 [1] and very similar to those found for polar solutions of ½Cu II 2 ð3; 5À diisopropylsalicylateÞ 4 ðH 2 OÞ 2 [16,17].…”

ESR study of some solvent effects of the Cu(II)-aspirinate complex

This monomeric species is similar to that evidenced for Cu(salicylate)2Py 2 in DMF solution [21] where the presence of gH = 2.401 is attributed by Greenway etaL [13] Cu(Asp)2(DMF)2 species with an elongated tetrahedral-octahedral symmetry due to the coordination of solvent molecules at Cu 2+ ion along the Oz axis.…”

“…Figure 3 shows the ESR spectrum of Cu(lI)-aspirinate in a 40 % Py + 60 % DMF solution at room temperature. This is similar to the spectra of Cu2(Asp)2Py 2 in chloroform [ 13 ] and of Cu(II)-glyoxime dichloride in dioxane [ 19] suggesting the presence of Cu(II)-pseudotetrahedral monomeric species [20]. The characteristic isotropic parameters ate g0 = 2.16 and A 0 --62 G. No resolved superhyperfine structure due to the interaction of the paramagnetic electron with nitrogen atoms of the pyridine molecules was observed.…”
