“…Because CIPK31 inhibits both RBOHA and CatC and promotes ROS levels, further genetic study with a combination of rboha × catc will be interesting to dissect the mechanism of CIPK31‐mediated ROS homeostasis. Taken together, CIPK31 confers resistance to ShB (Figures 1a–f and 2a–e ), rice blast (Lin et al, 2021 ), and bacterial blight (Figure S2e–h ), and plays roles in growth and development in plants (Cho et al, 2019 ; Nagarjuna et al, 2016 ; Peng et al, 2018 ; Piao et al, 2010 ). However, clearly, CIPK31 interacts with CatC to modulate ROS homeostasis to promote rice resistance.…”

“…In monocotyledons plants, 740 and 1384 viable mutants were isolated in rice M 2 population (90,386 plants) that derived from gamma rays (100–500 Gy) and electron beam (200–600 Gy) irradiated seeds, the mutation frequency was 2.35% [ 51 ]. In the case of maize, 10 salt-tolerant lines were isolated from 2248 M 2 plants that derived from seeds irradiated by gamma rays at 100 Gy, the mutation frequency was 0.44% (4.44 × 10 −5 per dose) [ 52 ]. In barley, one dwarf mutant was isolated from 10,000 M 2 individuals that derived from seeds irradiated by 200 Gy gamma rays, the mutation frequency was 0.01% (0.05 × 10 −5 per dose) [ 34 ].…”

“…Several mutants displayed no pigments on their leaves and stems or trichomes on their leaves; these were isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana, which was irradiated using a carbon-ion beam [33]. Only ten salt-tolerant maize lines derived from gamma-ray irradiation were isolated from over 2000 plants [34]. Although the criteria for screening phenotypes varied slightly among different studies, these results still prove that different mutation phenotypes occur with different frequencies.…”
