“…Perhaps this reduction in combat time would be explained by greater technical efficiency, resulting in at the end of combat before the regular time. Blach et al (2021) compared the attack efficiency index between the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2013 World Cup, and they observed higher attack efficiency values in 2013, although the statistical analysis did not show a significant difference (2012 = 5.92 vs. 2013 = 7.79, p = 0.083). In addition, as inducing the opponent to commit infractions was no longer a good strategy, as punishments no longer turned into scores ( International Judo Federation, 2013 ), performing consecutive attacks with different grips became essential to surprise and defeat the opponent.…”

“…The level of technical-tactical skills has an impact on the course of the fight. Therefore, when describing a fight in sport ju-jitsu, one should bear in mind such elements as actual fighting time, work and rest time, and number and types of technical and tactical activities performed by athletes (activeness, efficiency, and effectiveness of the attack) [ 4 , 61 ]. Performing actions in both attack and defense affects the final result of the fight and helps the athlete score points [ 62 ].…”

“…When planning an optimal training program to ensure that the athlete reaches the champion level, the information obtained from the monitoring of the fights that determines the so-called ju-jitsu combat model should be used. The most popular form of the evaluation of sports performance of an athlete are the indices of technical and tactical skills, which can be used by coaches to adjust training programs and determine the current level of skills for an athlete [ 61 ].…”

“…Within the combat sports with grappling, there are sports in which gripping, throwing, ground combat, chokeholds and joint locks are allowed. These sports include judo, wrestling and jiu-jitsu [3,4]. Punching or striking sports include those in which the hands (such as boxing), the legs (such as taekwondo) or both the hands and legs (such as karate) are used [2].…”
