“…In human beings, S. aureus is considered an important primary pathogen causing skin bacterial diseases such as impedigo and staphylococcal scaledskin syndrome. In veterinary dermatology, S. aureus and S. hyicus have been implicated in dermatitis of chickens [20,28] and horses [5,24,27], and in exudative epidermitis of pigs [2], respectively. S. intermedius is one of the causative agents of canine bacterial skin disease such as otitis externa and pyoderma.…”
