Abstract: BACKGROUND Uncontrolled antibiotic use causes the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, one of which is ESBL. ESBL is a resistance mechanism developed by several gram-negative bacteria which can render beta-lactam antibiotics ineffective against them.
