“…It is known that several developing countries in Asia have severe particulate matter issues including ultrafine particles (Dejchanchaiwong et al, 2020, Huyen et al, 2021Liu et al, 2018). Mask-wearing by the general public is a common practice in these countries to protect themselves from inhaling particulate matters into the lungs (Cherrie et al, 2018).…”

“…Previously, Pereira et al 26 , characterized PM 10 in CDM, however, they warned about the formation of secondary particles in the atmosphere. Likewise, Huyen et al 41 , pointed out that fine aerosols (PM 2.5 ) that include ultrafine PM come from a significant contribution of secondary organic carbon, so the growth of these particles depends on the amount of surface water molecules present in the aerosol (associated to the relative humidity), since relative humidity exerts a different effect on the concentrations of fine and coarse particles 42 . In general, the levels of PM 2.5 and PM 10 observed in the southern spring of 2016-2018 were observed in the towns of VMT, CDM and Ate in Metropolitan Lima.…”

“…In addition, the mass concentrations by different monitoring sites have attention as follows, urban > suburban > rural. In Vietnam, many studies of PM 0.1 in Hanoi, the capital city in Vietnam, are more progressive than in other SEA cities [28,[30][31][32][33][34][35]. The results show that mass concentrations in different environments in Hanoi ranged from 1 to 17 µg/m 3 .…”
