Characteristic and comparison of UML, BPMN and EPC based on process models of a training company

Abstract: We describe, characterize and compare three selected modeling notations of business processes: Unified Modeling Language, Business Process Model and Notation, as well as Event-Driven Process Chain. Using processes implemented in a training company, the selected notations were discussed in detail.
