Characterisation of barley resistance to rhynchosporium on chromosome 6HS

Abstract

Major resistance gene to rhynchosporium, Rrs18, maps close to the telomere on the short arm of chromosome 6H in barley.

Bivariate analysis of barley scald resistance with relative maturity reveals a new major QTL on chromosome 3H

The authors suggested this resistance to be different from Rrs1 based on differential isolate reactions, but were unable to differentiate its map position from that of Rrs1 20 . Further experiments are required to resolve whether the QTL-WAIYerong-3H is the same or different to the gene found in Steptoe on chromosome 3H.…”
