Online education has grown exponentially over the past decade. Data collected by the Sloan Consortium reveals that between 2002 and 2009 students enrolled in at least one online course increased from 1.6 million to 5.6 million. It is projected that by 2020 up to 60% of college students will take their courses entirely online. A critical question for higher education administrators is “Who will teach these online courses?” Institutions need to be proactive and develop strategies for hiring and training faculty and adjuncts to meet this shift in educational delivery. Moreover, with online student attrition reported as being higher than traditional student attrition, faculty must also know how to engage and retain students in the online classroom environment. This article examines online faculty recruitment, online faculty training, and ten strategies for integrating Online Human Touch training and support into current and future online programs to increase faculty and student engagement and retention. Institutions that are not evaluating online education delivery options may face crisis or financial exigency. For many colleges and university, online faculty and adjuncts will be a central part of the future of the institution.

A scheme to implement the Jerk form of the Chua system family using a controllable canonical form applied in linear systems is proposed. The main thought is that the nonlinear function with a single independent variable input can be superposed by a multiple linear function, which is regarded as the input of the system, and its single variable is regarded as the output of the system. Its state space could be reconstructed into the controllable canonical form. The output after transformation is fed back to the nonlinear function as its input independent variable, thus the controllable canonical form is transformed into the Jerk form of the Chua's chaotic system. All Jerk forms of threeorder Chua system, and part Jerk forms of four-order Chua system are presented. Analysis of the Lyapunov exponent spectrum, eigenvalues of the original three-order, four-order Chua systems and their Jerk forms, and the same values demonstrate the equivalent of the systems for both structures. According to the complexity and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) test results, the pseudo-random performance of the chaotic sequence brought by the Jerk forms of the Chua system is better. The simplest unified circuit block diagram for the Jerk forms of the Chua's family is also given. By changing their resistance parameters, the bifurcation diagrams show that Jerk forms' systems are entering chaos, these circuits implement results of 2-6 scroll attractors. In this paper, a new chaotic system is proposed by adding a magnetron memristor to an erbium-doped fiber laser circuit, and its dynamical characteristics are analyzed. A special periodic coexistence attractor phenomenon was discovered during the analysis, which affects the dynamical characteristics of the system by changing the time parameters of the AC power supply and it is controllable. Finally, the chaotic system is implemented by constructing an equivalent analog circuit. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the new erbium-doped fiber laser chaotic system has good dynamical characteristics and it is easy to implement. Meanwhile, the rich dynamical characteristics of the system provide a basis for its application in image encryption and other fields.
