Channels of projectile fragmentation of16O nucleus in nuclear emulsion

Abstract: Experimental data are presented on the projectile fragments emitted from non-central collisions of 3.7 A GeV 16 O projectiles with nuclear emulsion. Charges of all projectile fragments are measured carefully and identified using δ-ray distributions. Each distribution is fitted by Gaussian shape and represented one of the possible charges of projectile fragments. Topology of 16 O fragmentation is reported and compared with that obtained at 60 A GeV. The multiplicity distributions for 16 O projectile fragments w… Show more

“…Another indication in favour of -clustering in 16 O can be seen in Fig. 2, where the calculated probabilities of multiple production of -particles in interactions of 16 O with different energies in nuclear emulsion are presented along with data [9]. The probabilities of production of one, two and three of -particles at 3.7 GeV/nucl.…”

“…Transverse momentum pT for the charged Pfs is related to the emission angle and magnitude of the charge [5] where There are two observed distributions, one is for low transverse momenta pT represents by symmetric Gauss distribution and the other is for high pT which described by exponential decay curve. Each distribution represents a specific mechanism responsible for production of projectile fragments at different temperatures.…”

“…Many experimental and theoretical efforts have been devoted to describing the reaction mechanism that is responsible or nuclear fragmentations [1][2][3][4]. In previous work [5] the charges of all possible channels of projectile fragmentation Pf, for 32 S and 16 O nuclei were studied. Now we investigate some of the experimental parameter that gives information on this process.…”
