Channeling of Ultrarelativistic Electrons in Crystals

Abstract: The kinetic equation for axially channeled ultrarelativistic electrons in the energy range of 1 to 55 GeV for Si and W is solved. The results show that the dechanneling lengths for different targets are close. Yet, the Kumakhov radiation power in W is higher than in Si. Therefore, the Kumakhov radiation efficiency in heavy crystals, such as tungsten, can be very high.
