Changes in Neuroactive Steroid Concentrations After Preterm Delivery in the Guinea Pig

Abstract: Background: Preterm birth is a major cause of neurodevelopmental disorders. Allopregnanolone, a key metabolite of progesterone, has neuroprotective and developmental effects in the brain.
