Change Detection and Gis-Based Fuzzy Ahp to Evaluate the Degradation and Reclamation Land of Tikrit City, Iraq

Abstract: LULC factors in Tikrit city (Iraq) and the neighboring municipalities are studied among 1989, 2002 and 2015 using various techniques of remote sensing, geographical information system (GIS), and fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP). Satellite imagery with GIS helped to assess the standard LULC changes in the long term period. FAHP permitted estimating the importance of various LULC by determination of the suitable weight for used factors and then producing the evaluating models. Using different techniques… Show more

“…The main advantage of AHP is that it can help to check and reduce the inconsistency of expert judgment [55]. Therefore, the AHP model has been introduced by many scholars when assessing the suitability of land reclamation [56][57][58].…”

“…It also has to involve what is known as inference, which means applying the result of this sequence of operations to the consequences. The most difficult and less-formal task is to construct a set of fuzzy rules (FR) relevant to the specific problem within the fuzzy classification system building process [17], [20]- [26]. Therefore, the essential point could be subsumed by using a rule-based system that employs fuzzy logic, referred to as a fuzzy inference system, to affect the required modeling of human reasoning for a specific application problem involving a substantial amount of data.…”

“…Despite the advantages in analyzing the images using the Object, the challenge remains in dealing with high-resolution satellite data, the size of the areas to be classified, the type of devices and the method of work used (Shareef, Ameen, & Ajaj, 2020). Dealing with large areas may require more images or an additional number that can be obtained by monogram images or can be compiled using mosaic techniques, which may require image radiometric or geometric processing to obtain the required accuracy (Degerickx et al, 2017) and then to minimize the distortion in features to supply a spectrally homogeneous image analysis (Li & Xiong, 2017).…”
