Summary The Internet of Things (IoT) continues to expand the current Internet, opening the door to a wide range of novel applications. The increasing volume of the IoT requires effective strategies to overcome its challenges. Machine Learning (ML) has led to a growing technology that enables computers to solve problems without the need for knowledge of their intricate details. Over the past years, various ML techniques have been used to efficiently manage IoT networks. Clustering is a technique that has proven its performance in the networking domain. Many works in the literature have studied ML‐based clustering methods for IoT networks, including their main properties, characteristics, underlying technologies, and open issues. In this paper, we focus on topology‐centered ML‐based clustering protocols for IoT networks. Specifically, we investigate the potential benefits of adopting the clustering approach to address several IoT challenges. Moreover, we provide a comprehensive taxonomy of ML‐based clustering algorithms for IoT networks. Finally, we statistically analyze the incorporation of ML techniques for clustering in various IoT systems and highlight the related open issues.

WBANs (Wireless Body Area Networks) are frequently depicted as a paradigm shift in healthcare from traditional to modern E-Healthcare. The vitals of the patient signs by the sensors are highly sensitive, secret, and vulnerable to numerous adversarial attacks. Since WBANs is a real-world application of the healthcare system, it’s vital to ensure that the data acquired by the WBANs sensors is secure and not accessible to unauthorized parties or security hazards. As a result, effective signcryption security solutions are required for the WBANs’ success and widespread use. Over the last two decades, researchers have proposed a slew of signcryption security solutions to achieve this goal. The lack of a clear and unified study in terms of signcryption solutions can offer a bird’s eye view of WBANs. Based on the most recent signcryption papers, we analyzed WBAN’s communication architecture, security requirements, and the primary problems in WBANs to meet the aforementioned objectives. This survey also includes the most up to date signcryption security techniques in WBANs environments. By identifying and comparing all available signcryption techniques in the WBANs sector, the study will aid the academic community in understanding security problems and causes. The goal of this survey is to provide a comparative review of the existing signcryption security solutions and to analyze the previously indicated solution given for WBANs. A multi-criteria decision-making approach is used for a comparative examination of the existing signcryption solutions. Furthermore, the survey also highlights some of the public research issues that researchers must face to develop the security features of WBANs.

The development of in-vivo communications and networking systems has the potential for improving the healthcare delivery while also enabling the creation of new services and applications. In-vivo communications provide wireless networked cyber-physical systems of the embedded devices that enable accurate, quick, and cost-effective responses under a variety of circumstances. Also, it is focused upon modeling and characterizing in-vivo wireless channel, as well as contrasting it to other well-known channels. In this paper, channel coding is also mentioned because it improves data rates and performance gain. This work also discusses present problems and potential research topics for in-vivo communications. This article aims to show the researchers how the orthogonal frequency multiple access (OFDMA) technique improved the performance of in-vivo channel and how it is outperformed compared to the other techniques (TDM, TDMA, CDMA and OFDM) also how the OFDMA outperformed equalizers and channel coding in terms of bit error rate with giving a significant improvement of data transmitting and avoiding inter symbol interference. However, when it comes to the in-vivo communications, the modeling of in-vivo wireless channel is vital.Understanding the features of the in-vivo channel is critical for achieving optimal processing and designing successful procedures that allow WBANs to be arranged inside the human body.
