Challenges and Opportunities of FACTS Devices Interacting with Electric Vehicles in Distribution Networks: A Technological Review

Abstract: Electric vehicles have many opportunities to participate in auxiliary operations as research interest in renewables and green energy sources grows. This paper discusses novel energy storage technologies for assessing the impact of electric vehicles and distributed flexible alternating current transmission systems in smart grids for improving various power system performance results using various optimization techniques with real and reactive power minimization as objective functions. The authors should strive … Show more

“…Additionally, switches and diodes have convenient values regarding continuous input current and voltage stress. An improved non-isolated Buck-Boost dc-dc converter structure is presented in [6]. Because of its single switch-based form, the converter that is being proposed is more straightforward to use.…”

“…By using the second Newton's law, the dynamic equations of longitudinal, lateral and rotational movements of the car were obtained in the form of relations ( 4) to (6). The longitudinal aerodynamic resistance and lateral aerodynamic resistance are a function of air density, square of the vehicle's speed, front and side surfaces of the vehicle and drag coefficient and are calculated from the following relations [19]:…”
