CFD Simulation of CO2 and Methane Adsorption at Various Temperature for MOF-5 using Dual-site and Single-site Langmuir Model

Abstract: The annual increase in energy demand has led to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions, in particular CO2 emissions from the power generation industry. Carbon Capture and Utilization are technologies applied to capture CO2 gases and transform the gases into a different energy source. The adsorption technology to capture CO2 gases was chosen due to the minimum energy consumption and low costs required for an industrial application for sustainability. Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) has a reasonably high CO2 adso… Show more

“…33 Previously, the porous media model in CFD ANSYS was developed and validated with the experimental results. [27][28][29]34,35 CFD modeling can provide us with broader analysis to help in translating a lab-scale experiment to the industrial level. The fluid behavior is significant in the overall efficiency of metal adsorption, and computational fluid dynamics provides the most effective way to understand the mass transport of metal ions from wastewater to adsorbents.…”

“…40 The validation of the CFD model is a crucial part that always needs experimental data. Available literature covers the adsorption effects of pollutants, [27][28][29]34,35 and the purpose is to broaden the perspective by analyzing the effect of different parameters (flow rate, material thickness, temperature, pressure, velocity, etc.) through the CFD model.…”
