“…Clinical symptoms of cestodoses caused by adult worms are usually mild or even asymptomatic, the most common clinical signs being abdominal discomfort or pain, constipation, diarrhea and weakness; only extremely rarely has anemia or vitamin B12 deficiency been reported (Waeschenbach et al, 2017). Parasitism of some Brazilian fish, including B. capriscus, Genypterus brasiliensis Regan, 1903, Paralichthys isosceles Jordan, 1890, and Lophius gastrophysus Miranda-Ribeiro, 1915, by diphillobothriid larvae has been reported in papers on taxonomy, parasite ecology and hygienicsanitary conditions (Alves et al, 2005;Knoff et al, 2008Knoff et al, , 2011bFelizardo et al, 2010). In South America, Dibothriocephalus latus (Linnaeus, 1758) Lühe, 1899 (=Diphyllobothrium latum), Dib.…”

“…A small drop of aliquot of the suspension was withdrawn with help of plastic dropper and put in a clean, grease free glass slide and examined under a microscope using 10X and 40X objectives. MC were identified to the genus level following the previously described keys and manuals (Sohn 2009, Kiyan et al 2018, Knoff et al 2011. Photographs of MC were taken using an inverted microscope to which a digital camera was fitted.…”
