CERN LEP indications for two light Higgs bosons and theU(1)model

Abstract: Reanalyses of LEP data have shown preference to two light CP-even Higgs bosons. We discuss implications of such a Higgs boson spectrum for the minimal supersymmetric model extended by a standard model singlet chiral superfield and an additional Abelian gauge invariance [the U1 0 model]. We, in particular, determine parameter regions that lead to two light CP-even Higgs bosons while satisfying existing bounds on the mass and mixings of the extra vector boson. In these parameter regions, the pseudoscalar Higgs i… Show more

“…Finally over the whole range √ s > 100 GeV the confidence level is less than expected from background. Within the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) and other extensions [2][3][4][5], the excesses at 98 GeV and 115 GeV were interpreted as evidence for the presence of two Higgs bosons H i with couplings to matter reduced by a factor α i , giving g 2 i = α i g 2 SM −Higgs . We will call such Higgs bosons fractional Higgses in the following.…”
