Abstract:Background:Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) often presents with cholinergic degeneration and varying degrees of cerebrovascular disease (CVD). Radiological methods for assessing cholinergic degeneration in DLB are limited. We investigated the potential of the radiological Cholinergic Pathway Hyperintensities Scale (CHIPS) in identifying CVD-related disruptions in cholinergic white matter pathways. We compared the utility of CHIPS to other radiological and automated methods of evaluation.
Methods: We included 82… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
