Cerebral abscess as a neurosurgical emergency in Eisenmenger syndrome: illustrative case

Abstract: BACKGROUND Eisenmenger syndrome caused by severe pulmonary arterial hypertension in congenital heart disease can cause multisystemic involvement and is a risk factor for development of cerebral abscess. Cerebral abscess, if not detected and treated in a timely manner, can present as acute neurosurgical emergency.
