Abstract:Sphingolipids are a class of biomolecules that play key roles in cellular signaling and membrane trafficking, with main players including sphingosine, sphingosine‐1‐phosphate (S1P), ceramide, and ceramide‐1‐phosphate (C1P). Specifically, C1P has been shown to play a role in important intra‐ and extracellular events such as cell proliferation, phagocytosis, inflammation, tumor metastasis, and migration of macrophages. Despite the identification of several C1P binding proteins such as cytosolic phospholipase A2α… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
