Central Venous Catheters as a Source of Hemodialysis-Related Bacteremia

Abstract: A marked increase in hemodialysis bacteremia occurred in 1996, associated with increased reliance on CVCs for vascular access in hemodialysis patients during a period of healthcare restructuring.
