Central neuromodulatory pathways regulating sympathetic activity in hypertension

Abstract: The classical neurotransmitters, glutamate and GABA, mediate fast (milliseconds) synaptic transmission and modulate its effectiveness through slow (seconds to minutes) signaling processes.
