Cementation exponent estimate in carbonate reservoirs: A new method

Abstract: There are two approaches for measuring hydrocarbon saturation: well log interpretation and usually developed formulas. Archie’s equation is one of the most fundamental equations used for water saturation calculation. Archie’s equation includes three factors: cementation factor, tortuosity and saturation exponent. Archie determines these factors based on lab results in sandstone and provides fixed value for them. Carbonate reservoirs have a variety of textures, shapes and distribution of pores; therefore, the m… Show more

“…Therefore, the geochemical behavior of these two elements in relation to each other (as an exploratory key in the study region) (Shirazy et al 2019), is important. In order to investigate the geochemical behavior of Cu and Co elements, K-Means clustering method was used Khayer et al 2020, Shirazy et al 2022c. Initially, the data set was categorized into different classes using the K-Means algorithm.…”

“…In the Bafgh region, due to the presence of apatite iron deposits, there are rich sources of rare earth elements. [12][13][14][15] According to the studies of Moradkhani et al (2015), the following results were obtained on the Narigan exploration area, located in the southern part of the mining area of rare Esfordi soil elements and black spot (which has been identified as rich in these elements). In the Narigan region, the presence of semi-deep granitoid intrusion mass called Narigan granite as the source of mineralisation and joint system and fault system and many joints around the mass has created suitable conditions for forming metal veins.…”
