Persistent Spinal Pain Syndrome Type 2 (PSPS-T2), (Failed Back Surgery Syndrome), dramatically impacts on patient quality of life, as evidenced by Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) assessment tools. However, the importance of functioning, pain perception and psychological status in HRQoL can substantially vary between subjects. Our goal was to extract patient profiles based on HRQoL dimensions in a sample of PSPS-T2 patients and to identify factors associated with these profiles. Two classes were clearly identified using a mixture of mixed effect models from a clinical data set of 200 patients enrolled in “PREDIBACK”, a multicenter observational prospective study including PSPS-T2 patients with 1-year follow-up. We observed that HRQoL was more impacted by functional disability for first class patients (n=136) and by pain perception for second class patients (n=62). Males that perceive their work as physical were more impacted by disability than pain intensity. Lower education level, lack of adaptive coping strategies and higher pain intensity were significantly associated with HRQoL being more impacted by pain perception. The identification of such classes allows for a better understanding of HRQoL dimensions and opens the gate towards optimized health-related quality of life evaluation and personalized pain management.

Non-Territorial Autonomy and the Legal Protection of the Symbols of Religious Organizations and National Minorities in Serbia

This paper scrutinizes the history of legal rules that regulate the appearance and use of state symbols as well as the evolution of the legal protection of symbols of national minorities and religious organizations. Furthermore, it analyses the history of nonterritorial cultural and religious autonomy arrangements in Serbia. It investigated to what extent the institutional arrangements of non-territorial autonomy contributed to the legal protection of the mentioned symbols. The first hypothesis is that certain rudimentary forms of non-territorial autonomy existed in Serbia during the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. However, the focus of legislators in this period was on the regulation and protection of state symbols. In the second half of the 20th century, the preconditions for the development of the protection of national minorities were created, while the scope of the rights of religious organizations was significantly reduced. It was only at the beginning of the 21st century that the collective right to non-territorial autonomy was constituted. At the same time, constitutional and legal provisions protected the right of national minorities to choose and use symbols, which leads to the conclusion that the existing institutional arrangement of non-territorial autonomy contributed to better legal protection of the symbols of national minorities. On the other hand, there is room for additional improvement in the legal protection and regulation of the use of the symbols of religious organizations.

Biodegradable polymers using renewable resources with properties that are comparable to bio-based and fossil-based polymer materials at a comparable cost have been studied and developed in an effort to solve environmental issues, especially expanded polystyrene. One potential raw main material to replace EPS is poly(lactic acid), a synthetic polymer made from lactic acid, which is made by fermenting organic materials like sweetcorn, rice, soya, potatoes, or whey. It is used in food and non-food packaging, drug-controlled release, agriculture, automotive, and electronic accessories. Foaming is vital in developing lighter, more cost-effective materials that may be utilized for a range of purposes due to their general features, such as lightweight, good heat, more ductile (elastic), and excellent energy absorption (impact resistance). In this review, different types of foaming processes and their process parameters are focused at. It was written following the procedures outlined in the PRISMA2020 (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) guidelines for conducting a review to reports and evaluating a wide variety of interventions. Furthermore, a sustainable material should focus on the efficacy of its resource consumption and the economic feasibility of the product it creates. An economic feasibility study is also provided in this article aims to evaluate how much profit a production plant can make. The techno-economic model developed in this study yielded a profit on sales of 69.69% and an internal rate of return of 44.0%. Techno-economic modeling favored the commercial use of poly(lactic acid)-based biodegradable foam based on its positive net present value, short payback period, and high internal rate of return.
