Abstract: Current maintenance immunosuppression commonly comprises a synergistic combination of tacrolimus as calcineurin inhibitor (CNI), mycophenolic acid, and glucocorticoids. Therapy is often individualized by steroid withdrawal or addition of belatacept or inhibitors of the mechanistic target of rapamycin.
