Cell image reconstruction using digital holography with an improved GS algorithm

Abstract: Digital holography is an effective technology in image reconstruction as amplitude and phase information of cells can be acquired without any staining. In this paper, we propose a holographic technique with an improved Gerchberg-Saxton (GS) algorithm to reconstruct cell imaging based on phase reconstruction information. Comparative experiments are conducted on four specific models to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The morphological parameters (such as shape, volume, and sphericity) of ab… Show more

“…In addition, digital holography can be combined with other analytical methods, such as computer vision and machine learning, to further improve the accuracy and speed of detecting and analyzing cytoplasmic abnormalities [38]. This combination can utilize the rich information of digital holograms for more comprehensive cellular analysis [39] and automate and efficiently assess cellular states and abnormalities through the application of algorithms and models.…”

“…The GS algorithm implemented in this paper has been well studied for previously in the context of digital holographic microscopy [19][20][21]. Seeing as the physical process behind the DLHM is similar to that of traditional DHM, the efficacy of the GS algorithm maintained its validity just as previous utilizations have [19][20][21].…”
