Celiac disease: An epidemiological condition: Insight on gluten free diet, significance and regulatory recommendations

Abstract: Celiac disease (CD) is a chronic small intestinal immune-mediated enteropathy due to exposure to dietary gluten in genetically vulnerable people. Enteropathy associated to the CD contributes to several macroand micronutrient-related nutrient failures. Celiac disease remains underdiagnosed in several regions, which can result in severe health issues. Non-invasive and inexpensive ways, such as video capsule endoscopy, are currently used for the diagnosis of celiac disease. The aim of this paper is to safe cure f… Show more

“…5.9 (12.7) is amount of vanillic acid present in finger millet. An experiment shows that the vanillic acid exhibit nephroprotective effects against diabetes due to the antioxidant action of vanillic acid (Kumari et al, 2021) [21] . Finger millet comprises of several amino acids such as Cysteine, Histidine, Arginine, Threonine, Tyrosine, Valine, Methionine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Phenylalanine, Tryptophan, Lysine.…”

“…Because lasting illnesses such as Type 2 diabetes (T2D), coronary heart disease (CHD), and hypertension are all expensive, the ability to lower chronic disease risk is critical. Whole grain diets lower LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol, blood pressure, and triglycerides while increasing HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol (Kumari and Morya, 2021;Hollaender et al, 2015). Sorghum is high in dietary fibre and has a low glycemic index, which aids in preventing and managing T2D in Indians.…”

“…Celiac disease (CD) is an immune-mediated enteropathy of the small intestine caused by gluten consumption in genetically predisposed people. Celiac disease is still underdiagnosed in various areas, which can lead to serious health problems (Kumari and Morya, 2021). Currently, the only therapy for Celiac disease requires a gluten-free diet for the rest of one's life in order to enhance quality of life, relieve symptoms, and avoid resistant celiac disease, ulcerative jejunoileitis, small intestine adenocarcinoma, and lymphoma (Caio et al, 2019).…”

“…So, people who avoid gluten can use it as a replacement for wheat flour in terms of taste and texture. Cassava flour is recommended in the diet of celiac patients who strictly adhere to gluten-free food [ 9 , 10 ]. Cassava flour is used as a raw material to produce gluten-free food products because of the low amount of protein, fiber, fat contents, and hypoallergenic properties [ 9 , 11 ].…”
