“…It is one of the predominant bacteria isolated from domestic kitchens and student sponge samples [ 3 , 5 , 32 ]. K. oxytoca , second highest frequency isolate in this study, has previously been isolated from domestic kitchen sponges [ 5 ] and leafy green vegetables [ 33 ]. This bacterium can cause septicemia, pneumonia and urinary tract infection [ 34 ].…”

“…This bacterium can cause septicemia, pneumonia and urinary tract infection [ 34 ]. K. pneumoniae , can cause serious community-acquired pneumonia [ 35 ], and has been isolated from meat and meat contact surfaces [ 36 ], leafy green vegetables [ 33 ] as well as kitchen sponges [ 5 ]. The pathogenicity of R. ornithinolytica is uncertain but it has been associated with fish and causes scombroid syndrome [ 37 ].…”

“…In 1981, Cedecea , a gram‐negative, oxidase‐negative, fermentative bacillus formerly known as enteric group 15 of the family Enterobacteriaceae, was designated as a new and separate genus (1). Including our case, 13 isolates have been reported (Table 1) (2–12). Six cases out of 13 (46%) were of C. davisae strain.…”

“…Treatment of this infection is sometimes a challenge because strains can be resistant to a variety of antimicrobial agents, in particular cephalothin, a first‐generation cephalosporin (2–4, 6, 10, 12). Other common resistances to antimicrobial agents, include ampicillin, colistin, and cefoxitin (second‐generation cephalosporin).…”
