“…A well-known example is the sensitizer of Ce 3+ from the broad to the narrow-line Tb 3+ activator due to the nearest neighbors in the crystal lattice and optimal spectral overlap. (20) However, the structure of NaSrPO 4 is related to the β-K 2 SO 4 type and belongs to the monoclinic system. Therefore, NaSrPO 4 has three different Na sites (Na1, Na2, and Na3) and three different Sr sites (Sr1, Sr2, and Sr3) in the lattices in comparison with the same β-K 2 SO 4 type structure of KBaPO 4, which belongs to the orthorhombic system.…”

“…The samples were prepared as pointed out elsewhere (Jose and Lakshmanan, 2004). The samples were produced in powder by means of the following steps: i) mixing 1 g of CaCO 3 and 0.02 g of Eu 2 O 3 in a saturated solution of H 2 SO 4 , drying at 375 C in vacuum for the CaSO 4 :Eu powder system; ii) mixing the product of the reaction of the AgNO 3 in ethylene glycol (polyol) with the CaSO 4 :Eu crystal during the crystallization process.…”

“…The CaSO 4 doped with lanthanide (Ln) ions or with d-metals has been widely studied as thermoluminescent (TL) and photoluminescent (PL) materials (Folkerts et al, 1995;Zhang et al, 2002;Shinsho et al, 2006;Ingle et al, 2008;Chagas et al, 2010;Jose and Lakshmanan, 2004;Furetta, 2010;Aypar, 1978). From the application point of view, calcium sulphate doped with Dy 3þ ions is an example of a dosimetric material.…”
