CD markers variations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia: New insights into prognosis

Abstract: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is one of the most commonly occurring adult leukemias that is associated with clonal accumulation of mature apoptosis-resistant B-cells in bone marrow, peripheral blood, and specific tissues. Different pathogenesis factors can contribute to the aggression of the clinical course in this disease.Cytogenetic abnormalities and surface biomarkers of neoplastic CLL cells can be effective in the outcome of CLL, and the examination of changing CD markers expressions in the progressio… Show more

“…Both of them can predict TTFT in the Binet 0 stage [35]. CD38 positivity, which is associated with other unfavorable factors such as higher s-β2M level and high-risk karyotypes, predicts the resistance of treatment, hepatomegaly and shorter survival [36,37]. ZAP70 expression is associated with disease progression and is a predictor of Ritcher's syndrome (RS) [38,39].…”

“…It seems that assessing clinical course of the CLL disease combined with molecular and biological factors can predict disease progression and patient's survival (1,5). In this regard, we investigated the changes in the expressions of different immunophenotypic markers in CLL patients to explore prognostic value of these markers in these patients.…”
