Cavity Generation Modeling of Fiber Fuse in Single-Mode Optical Fibers

Abstract: The evolution of a fiber fuse in a single-mode optical fiber was studied theoretically. To clarify both the silica-glass densification and cavity formation, which are observed in fiber fuse propagation, we investigated a nonlinear oscillation model using the Van der Pol equation.
