Abstract: A hydraulic cavitation platform was developed in order to examine the occurrence of cavitation in the rectangular throttling groove spool and its correlation with noise characteristics. The test valve is constructed using PMMA material, which possesses excellent transparency. This transparency enables direct visual examination of cavitation occurring at the throttle slot.
