Catheter Ablation in Arrhythmic Cardiac Diseases: Endocardial and Epicardial Ablation

Abstract: Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) is a group of arrhythmogenic disorders of the myocardium that are not caused by ischemic, hypertensive, or valvular heart disease. The clinical manifestations of ACMs may overlap those of dilated cardiomyopathy, complicating the differential diagnosis. In several ACMs, ventricular tachycardia (VT) has been observed at an early stage, regardless of the severity of the disease. Therefore, preventing recurrences of VT can be a clinical challenge. There is a wide range of effica… Show more

“…VT ablation can help to control VT storm or incessant VTs, which have a relatively high incidence in CS. In cases refractory to medical and catheter ablation therapy bilateral cardiac sympathectomy may be considered [ 10 , 20 , 32 , 35 , 77 , 105 ].…”

“…However, the recurrence of AF after ablation remains high. Many patients require several procedures of catheter ablation [ 6 , 7 , 8 ] with the development of new ways of catheter ablation being needed.…”
