Abstract: Derived from the denitrifying bacterium Aromatoleum aromaticum EbN1 (Azoarcus sp.), the enzyme S-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethanol dehydrogenase (S-HPED) belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family.
