Catalytic Decomposition of N2O on Ordered Crystalline Metal Oxides

Abstract: The synthesis of mesoporous metal oxides using mesoporous silicas or carbons as hard templates has attracted growing interest recently, but the catalytic application of mesoporous metal oxides has not been studied sufficiently. In addition, few publications have compared the catalytic performance of a series of mesoporous metal oxides in the same reaction, and little is known about the influence of preparation details of mesoporous metal oxides on catalytic activity. Herein, ordered crystalline mesoporous meta… Show more

“…E.g. commercial and mesoporous CuO, 3 8 reported signicantly higher activity of Cu-Mg-Al-O x hydrotalcite derived mixed metal oxides than analogues Co-Mg-Al-O x . Cu-Mg-Al-O x with molar ratios of Cu/ Mg/Al ¼ 10/61/29 and calcined at 600 C, reached full N 2 O conversion at 600 C in the presence of O 2 (0.1 g catalyst, 0.5 vol% N 2 O/He, 4.5 vol% O 2 /He, 50 cm 3 min À1 ).…”

“…Ma et al. reported that mesoporous Co 3 O 4 possessed especially high catalytic activity . It was reported that the metal oxides containing cobalt showed much higher catalytic performance in the decomposition of N 2 O owing to their relatively high redox properties .…”

“…The catalytic reaction condition could be found our previous reports [23,27,28]. Briefly, to test the performance in CO oxidation, 50 mg of catalyst was loaded in in a U-shaped quartz tube, pretreated in 8% O 2 –He at 400 °C for 1 h, and cooled down to 0 °C to allow for CO oxidation.…”
