Catalytic Activation of Ammonium Nitrate and Sodium Nitrite: Experimental, Modeling and Prediction of the Fracking Envelope in Low-Permeability Reservoirs with Light and Heavy Oils

Allan A. Rojas,
Mojtaba Rezaei Koochi,
Mikhail A. Varfolomeev
et al.

Abstract: The catalytic activation of thermochemical fluids or binary mixtures (BMs) based on ammonium nitrate and sodium nitrite was experimentally and numerically investigated as well as kinetically modeled. Experimental evidence in an autoclave reactor indicated an increase of temperature up to 242.5 °C and pressure up to 47.7 bar after the catalytic activation under standard conditions is accomplished. By means of the T and P growth and the observed reaction products (N2, NO2, and H2O), the reaction kinetic constant… Show more

“…At present, the wells in high tectonic parts of the main block have been injected with water, which has effectively controlled the decreasing production of the block, however, some of the wells still have the problems of imperfect injection and extraction and strong directionality of injection and extraction [1][2] . The reservoirs in the tectonic edge and low parts of the block have poor physical properties and are severely cut by faults, so there is a contradiction in the development of the field in terms of not being injected and not being extracted [3] . In view of the poor overall development effect of the oilfield, there are problems such as "fast decreasing rate of production, big difference between blocks, difficult to replenish formation energy, low degree of crude oil recovery", and so on, there is an urgent need to study targeted measures and methods to improve the development effect of the oilfield [4][5][6][7] .…”
