Abstract:A three-component metal catalyst was prepared and used in the process of catalytic wet peroxide oxidation (CWPO) for the degradation of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) in propellant wastewater with H2O2.
“…129 Addition of a copper sulfate catalyst gave comparable levels of NDMA formation, but increased the proportion of while varying the experimental conditions; where ambient temperature and high pH were found to give the highest concentration. 132 This reactivity is expected to be similar for other 1,1-dialkylhydrazine compounds. 4.3.…”

“…The catalyst increases the concentration of hydroxyl and hydroperoxyl radicals in the reaction, which react with hydrazine to form NDMA as an intermediate (Scheme , path e). The concentration of NDMA formed when testing their CuO/NiO/ZnO/γ-Al 2 O 3 heterogeneous catalyst was monitored while varying the experimental conditions; where ambient temperature and high pH were found to give the highest concentration . This reactivity is expected to be similar for other 1,1-dialkylhydrazine compounds.…”

Recent drug recalls (e.g., valsartan and ranitidine) linked to
the discovery of nitrosamine impurities have led to increased regulatory
scrutiny in the manufacturing process of marketed medicines, notably
for determining any sources of risk for nitrosamine (or related N-nitroso compound) formation within the manufacturing process.
This review seeks to aid the risk assessment process through identifying
known conditions and reactants through which N-nitroso
compounds can be formed.

“…Furthermore, the complete degradation of unsymmetrical and highly toxic dimethylhydrazine, a popular rocket propellant was performed. [237] The composite formation with highly magnetic NPs (Fe 3 O 4 ) can improve the reusability of plasmonic photocatalysts. Recently such magneto-plasmonic photocatalyst was reported for the degradation of rhodamine-6G (Rh6G) in textile wastewater.…”
Scheme 1. Different strategies and concepts employed in the design and development of photocatalysts based on a semiconductor, such as TiO 2 , and plasmonic NPs.
“… 5 DMA (dimethylamine) and NH 2 · can be produced by cleavage of the N–N bond. NH 2 · can be further oxidized to form NO, which would react with DMA to form NDMA 42 (eqn (2)). In humid air, NDMA cannot be detected, probably because of the hydrogen bonds formed between water and nitrogen in UDMH, hindering the amino oxidation process (eqn (3)).…”
An AgBr/TiO2/rGA composite was prepared to degrade gas-phase UDMH under simulated sunlight by the synergistic effects of absorption and photocatalysis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
