As reported in a previous study, fibroids in pregnancy are often complicated by maternal anemia (26.6%) and threatened preterm labor (26.6%), both of which were predictors of NICU admission due to respiratory distress in the present study. Furthermore, in the present study, fibroids also increased the risk of NICU admission, even after adjusting for these factors, although the small number of NICU group neonates warrants further studies to investigate this relationship.…”
