Case reports of genital tract tumours in cows

Abstract: The goal of this report is to analyse the incidence of genital tumours in cattle referred to the Clinic between 2016 and 2019 and to describe the outcome after the surgical tumour resection. All cattle with a confirmed diagnosis of a genital tumour (n = 3) were included in the study. The breed, age, tumour localisation and type of treatment were considered. Telephone interviews were used to ask owners about the integration of the cows into the herd after discharge, the survival, the reason for leaving the herd… Show more

“…This swelling has assumed to cause different effects on the animals like localized stress at the site of tumor, pressing of blood flow (since located on the jugular furrow) and nerve pass way, interfering with functions of different vital organs (esophagus, trachea, lymph nodes and others), secretion of excess amounts of biologically active substances (hormones) and reduction on the productive and reproductive efficiencies and general health conditions of animals as a secondary drawbacks. This finding agrees with the case report of benign melanocytoma in cow by genital tract tumours in cattle by occurrence of certain tumours in bovines by and prevalence and factors associated with superficial tumors and tumor-like swelling in cattle by [1,2,7,9].…”

“…2 Although tumors of cows' genital organs have low prevalence, it does occur and most common vaginal tumor being fibropapilloma. 6,7 Other tumors diagnosed were leiomyomas, leiomyosarcomas, fibromas, fibrosarcomas, fibroleiomyosarcomas, and squamous cell carcinomas. 6 Early diagnosis and treatment provide better prognosis.…”
