Case Report and Literature Review of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma

Abstract: Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) accounts for approximately 1.7% of all thyroid malignancies. The majority of MTC are sporadic, but 15% to 25% of the cases result from a germline mutation in the RET proto-oncogene. Surgery is the first-line treatment modality for any patient presenting with respectable MTC.
