Cascade frequency converters control features

Abstract: The structures of systems with high-voltage cascade frequency converters containing multi-winding transformers and low-voltage low-power converters connected in series at each output phase of the load are considered. Low-voltage blocks contain three-phase diode or active rectifiers, DC capacitor filters, single-phase stand-alone voltage inverters and block disconnecting devices in partial modes (in case of failure when part of the blocks are disconnected). The possibilities of operation of cascade converters a… Show more

“…Quantitatively, if the asynchronous mechanical speed ns is equal to fs at the synchronous frequency, the resulting electrical power is determined by the induced voltage, which is proportional to the relative speed difference between the synchronous rotation and the mechanical rotation range. The slip coefficient is determined using the expression for it [14][15][16]:…”

“…The simulation showed that the developed structure operated efficiently during start-up, operation, loading and unloading of the GMEU and SMEU (Figure 8). Then a power electronics unit, consisting of the rectifier, inverter, active rectifier and higher harmonics filters was modeled [20][21][22]. The simulation showed that the developed structure operated efficiently during start-up, operation, loading and unloading of the GMEU and SMEU (Figure 8).…”

“…One of these similar tasks is a task about the voltage dips elimination or compensation. A voltage dip is usually associated with the occurrence and ending of a short circuit or other emergency mode, also with connecting a powerful consumer to the electrical network [2][3][4]. In accordance with the requirements of this standard, a voltage dip is considered as electromagnetic interference, the intensity of it is determined by both voltage and duration.…”
